The editor follows a simple loop: open, choose, edit, review, save.

Open your PDF
Select a real PDF file. PDFit renders a local page preview and creates a temporary processing session.

Choose a tool
Pick an action from the top toolbar. Its settings appear above the editor and stay connected to the active tool.

Edit directly on the page
Double-click existing text to replace it, or click to place a new object. Drag its body to move it, use the corner handles to resize, and use the round handle to rotate.

Review before applying
Use Undo, Layers, page thumbnails, alignment, and named versions. Nothing should be final until it looks correct.

Apply and download
Select Apply composition. When processing finishes, use Save PDF to download the generated file.

Choose the right tool for the job
The top toolbar is grouped by intent even when every action remains one click away.
Edit content
Add text
Click the page to place new text, then adjust its font, size, color, background, alignment, and opacity.
Replace text
In Select mode, click a detected text line and choose Replace text—or double-click the line. PDFit carries its position, width, font style, size, text color, and background into the editable replacement.
Add image
Choose, paste, or drop a JPG or PNG, then drag, resize, rotate, crop, or replace it.
Whiteout
Paint over visible content. Use Secure redact—not a visual cover—when information must be permanently removed.
Mark important passages without changing the source text.
Note and Comment
Attach review notes, filter open or resolved comments, and preserve a clear review trail.
Stamp and Sign
Place an approval stamp, initials, or a reusable signature image.

Drag page thumbnails to reorder the document and review the final sequence.
Rotate / Crop
Correct page orientation or trim the visible page area.
Blank page / Insert PDF
Add a new blank page or bring pages in from another PDF.
Extract / Delete
Keep only selected pages or remove pages that are no longer needed.
Finish the document

Create fields, fill existing form controls, then flatten the final version when editing must stop.
Watermark / Numbers
Apply consistent marks and page numbering across the document.
Compress
Reduce the final file size and review the measured saving before download.

Add password protection or remove it from a document you are authorized to edit.
Precision editing
Move freely or align exactly
Drag objects naturally and let magnetic guides find page edges, centers, nearby objects, and manual ruler guides.
Hold Alt while dragging to temporarily ignore snapping.
Hold Shift while resizing to preserve proportions.
Select multiple objects to move, resize, rotate, align, or distribute them as a group.
Use Align for exact edges, centers, equal gaps, matching width, and matching height.
Enter exact X, Y, width, height, and angle values in the object inspector.
Layers and versions
Keep complex edits organized
Every added object becomes a layer. The top layer appears first in the list and visually sits above lower layers.
Name important layers so they remain easy to find.
Bring forward, send backward, hide, lock, duplicate, or delete a layer.
Lock finished objects before editing nearby content.
Save a named version before a large or risky change.
Local recovery stores the draft in this browser for a limited period; it is not a cloud backup of the original PDF.
Phone and tablet
The same editor, adapted for touch
On smaller screens the toolbar scrolls horizontally, settings collapse into compact sections, and action menus open as safe bottom sheets.
Swipe the toolbar
Move left or right through the tools without moving the PDF page.
Pinch through browser zoom carefully
Prefer the editor’s Fit, −, and + controls so object coordinates remain predictable.
Use Layers for precision
When objects overlap, selecting the correct layer is easier than tapping repeatedly on the page.
Save before leaving
Apply and download the PDF before closing the browser or switching devices.

Apply, inspect, and save
Review every page and confirm the layer order.
Select Apply composition and review the export preflight: visible layers, affected pages, skipped hidden layers, and permanent edits.
Wait for the atomic composition to finish. The server commits the complete visible stack as one version; if any layer fails, the current PDF remains unchanged.
Read the export report. It verifies the PDF signature, page count, affected-page geometry, and file-size change.
Download with Save PDF.
Open the downloaded file once and check important text, images, links, and forms.
Troubleshooting
Quick answers when something looks wrong
The wrong object moves.
Open Layers, choose the intended object by name or preview, and lock overlapping objects that are already finished.
An object appears above or below the wrong layer.
Use Bring forward, Send backward, Bring to front, or Send to back in the layer controls or right-click menu.
The page is too small or too large.
Select Fit to return the active page to the available editor area, then use − or + for controlled zoom.
The uploaded file is rejected.
Confirm it is a real PDF file and not another format renamed with a .pdf extension. Try a non-confidential test PDF to isolate file-specific damage.
The downloaded result is larger than expected.
Run Compress after the visual edits and compare the original and output sizes before sharing.
